The Admont Abbey library was our main reason for choosing Austria as a vacation destination. It did not disappoint. I feel like I had plenty of time to take all the photos I wanted here, which was much appreciated. Hallstatt was equally as amazing, but very congested with so many tours there. It's a must see! These tours we booked through this company were all very good. They make plenty of stops (albeit quick stops) during the drive.

I was picked up from my hotel and taken to the tourist Info center where we loaded up on a big bus. There was a LOT of coughing happening from behind me- so that ride was not enjoyable, especially given the length, but the bus was comfortable and had large windows for sight seeing. The tour guide had to repeat everything twice, once in Russian and once in English. The Library at Admont was worth the trip alone. It’s one of the most stunning places I’ve ever seen. And the small town of Hallstatt, nestled in the middle of the mountains, was gorgeous (got some great shots!). I would’ve liked more time there though. I paid 20 euro for the funicular you the mountain and when we got there the restaurant was not serving food (wish they had told us that before we paid). The view was still nice and I got some nice aerial shots of the lake with the snow-capped mountains in the back. Word of advice- make sure you bring cash! Pros: Hallstatt is so beautiful. Views are amazing. When you go, take the skywalk, you get an even more great view of the mountains and the water. Cons: Tour guide talks too much on the bus. You spend as much time on the bus getting to Hallstatt as you do in Hallstatt. Your actual free time is 3-4 hours. And there is far too much to see and it kills the joy when you have to kinda rush.
