Traveler Reviews

I started with Dave in Christchurch and it was a bit rocky because I was at an alternative stop and the bus was late and I couldn't get ahold of anyone on the given numbers. However, once we got going it was great- Dave was knowledgeable and upbeat. My trip got exponentially better when I switched guides to Helly at the Picton ferry. I carried on with her the entire time back to Christchurch (running on minimum time). She was knowledgeable, passionate about the environment, always up for a conversation, and honestly I really connected with her- like a big sister. I chose to sign up for a lot of activities. Unfortunately some were cancelled due to lack of interest or weather interference but I ended up checking bungy jumping off my bucket list (and doing the Canyon Swing and Fox the same day), whale watching, star gazing, hiking A LOT, and meeting some incredible people along the way. This tour was more cliquey than most I have been on because of the vast amount of late teens and

I was so worried about getting on the Kiwi bus alone in a county on the other side of the world but I couldn’t have wished for a better time! The first day or so is always hard trying to find your feet, work out what’s going on and make new friends BUT everyone is in the same boat! The places we stayed were all lovely (I’m not a Hostel girl but they were all what we needed). You were never really sat on the bus longer than a couple of hours without a stop but the views were so beautiful the whole way round you don’t really mind! My only regret was that I couldn’t stay longer in some places, Wanaka and Queenstown especially. The bus drivers are all really helpful and you didn’t need to worry about accommodation as it was all sorted for you on the bus if you needed it, and if you were staying somewhere else they always did there best to get you as close as possible (Simon and Toddy were the 2 main ones I had - both brilliant). If your looking to meet new people, travel to amazing places
