Traveler Reviews

Our tour began with a delightful walk through the estate with tour guide Daniel. The history of two Barossa families, Gramps and Jacobs, was explained in a delightful conversational manner. The walk included history of the restored heritage buildings on site, the planting and harvesting of cork trees, the wonderful kitchen garden and anecdotes of characters from their past. The walk was followed by an informative and generous wine tasting of some very fine St Hugo wines - Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz - of different ages. The four course menu with matching wines was outstanding - congratulations to the chef. Throughout the experience, Daniel was our guide, our host, our waiter. His attention to the details that made this a thoroughly delightful experience could not be faulted. He’s an absolute asset to St Hugo’s. Congratulations!
