Traveler Reviews

South sea island is a great island to spend the day with lots of activities, unfortunately we only got 2 and half hours on this island because the combo cruise leaves at 12.30 and then sails around the Mamanuca islands doing picks up for the rest of the afternoon. If you just want to enjoy the views and cruise the islands (and stay on the catamaran) then this is for you but if you want to actually spend some time in the water or on the islands choose a different tour. Apart from that the tour is well catered for, the island is well set up for drinks, food, activities and tour guides. The boats are full, busy and air conditioned. Whilst you can enjoy the view from the top deck, it can get a little too exposed. Alternatively, the inside of the catamaran is well serviced and air conditioned. Again I wish I had chosen a tour that would have allowed me to spend more time on the islands and in the water and less time doing pick ups.

My son and I booked to go on the half day South Sea Island. My son is gluten free due to Coeliac Disease and at the time of booking this was noted and we were told he would be catered for. On arrival I spoke to the chef who told me fish, sausages and salads were gf. He only had sausage, and became violently ill, vomiting and unable to stand or walk. He had to be carried off the island and boats.Had a terrible time, and no apology from chef or company. A very expensive tour for nothing. The lack of care and apology was appalling. This was a very different Fiji to what we had seen on the rest of the trip.

We attended the half day South sea island cruise as we have 4 children the youngest just turned 5 and felt the full day would be too much for them. We tossed up between this cruise and the Malamala Beach Club but went with this because the price was all inclusive and felt it was better value for 6 people. We had a great day! All the kids loved it. One of my kids went to the kids club where a supervisor helped her make a grass skirt and did face paint, the tweens went snorkeling and kayaking and the youngest enjoyed the pool and glass bottom boot. Plenty of space for everyone, I was worried the full day people would have taken all the lounge chairs but there was loads of room for everyone. The air con transfer from the marina is by a large boat then a 3 min small boat ride to the island, really no big deal and easily managed by all my kids so not sure what everyone is complaining about. We were lucky with beautiful weather with minimal wind so perhaps it is a different experience in c

With the travel time this half day tour is too rushed. Visibility was poor unfortunately in the semi submarine and the island itself was very average. Staff were really friendly and helpful. My husband rates this a 2 but I think a 3. The kids enjoyed the boat ride and quick attempt at snorkelling. Thank you

We went as a small group and were disappointed with cruise as poor weather meant that all water activity were cancelled, so we were basically sitting under a coconut tree takling and eating. The island facility were very basic and the beach lounges and sun shelters in need of some tender love and maintenance. The food was not fantastic, but as usual the staff were friendly and welcoming. Weather is always issue on this sort of cruise and it would have been more enjoyable with the extra things to participate in, and time would have not been a waste. Also it was annoying that the cancelling, seemed unimportant and relayed to tour group without much interest. Finally we paid for something that did not happen and there was no chance of any part refund. Anyway try and avoid if any doubt over weather.
