Visit: Princeville Botanical Gardens, 3840 Ahonui Pl, Princeville, Kauai, HI 96722-5530Begin the tour by exploring the upper terraces and the uses of the plants living in Waimea Valley. Find exotic flowers, rare medicinals, happy honey hives and t the bottom of the valley, small cacao grove thrives. Here, taste some raw chocolate nibs and learn about how chocolate is grown and harvested. When you leave the Valley, head to our outdoor chocolate tasting area, where you'll learn about modern and historical chocolate processing methods. You'll sample at least 5 different single-origin chocolates from around the world. After relaxing in the shade and enjoying the chocolate, back on your feet to explore our Anini Creek valley, another wonderland of rare plants, stunning topography, and fascinating sustainable cultivation techniques.

Beautiful and packed with information. Good tour for those looking for a laid back experience. Not ideal for teens, as they will likely be bored.

The chocolate tasting was a unique experience. Also, the tour guides provided a great deal of information on the origin and history of the various plants on the island.

The staff is so accommodating and personable. At the last minute, due to illness, my companion couldn't join the tour. The staff provided me with a bag and containers so I could take the things we tasted during the tour and our chocolate tasting back for him to enjoy later.

Seeing all the incredible plants and hearing the many uses they had for native Hawaiians really gave me an appreciation for the native people if Hawaii.

All of it was amazing! The views, the chocolate, the plants and flowers, the honey, fresh coconut, banana, etc. So many things to taste. So many things to see. If you're lucky you'll get the self professed plant nerd Heidi as your guide. She was not your typical guide that plods along pointing to stuff and saying a few pre-rehearsed notes. No, her true love of plants and gardens really shines through.
