Traveler Reviews

René is someone with deep Quebec connections—going back 10 generations on one side of his family and 9 on the other. He was engaging and entertaining throughout the whole tour, just like a favorite teacher we’ve all had. And he listens well to everyone on the tour and wants to make sure his tour participants enjoy themselves. Bravo, René!

Our guide was outstanding. Many sites seen and much information dispensed in a small amount of time.

We easily met our guide in Place Royale. There were nine people in the group and everyone enjoyed each others' company. We were taken all over the old city. Historic landmarks and the history behind them was explained. Very picturesque alleyways and plazas added to the ambiance. We felt like we were in a small village in France. Flowers were everywhere. The old town has upper and lower levels serviced by a funicular elevator. It should be noted that there are still hills and stairs throughout the tour that need to be climbed. This was a three hour tour and we were very happy with what we experienced. It was a hot day and we were glad to find a cool bistro for lunch afterwards.

The English language walking tour was fabulouos. History of Quebec - native, french, english, american, and english again. Religious history. Rebuilt/restored buildings. Public Works historical murals interpreted. Up the finicular to the upper city. Great views. Louise was gracious and responded to all questions happy to share her considerable knowledge. I would highly recommend - even considering it rained on us for half the tour. Maple Leaf Tourism Service should not be confused with Maple Leaf Tours.com which seems to be a travel agency.
