ItineraryVIATOR IS NOT THE TOUR PROVIDER!!Yes, this dive is from the shore...but is not stereotypical at all. With easy entry and exit, short surface swim and lots of unique and plentiful marine life, this is the most popular south shore dive site.This is a shore dive located in very protected Hanaka’ape Bay, which is sheltered from surf, wind, and chop. There is very little surface swim involved, as the dive site begins just steps off the ramp. We set up all of your equipment close to the water in a comfortable setting. The large horseshoe-shaped bay allows us to dive in two distinct areas, perfect for a two tank excursion. The maximum depth here is approximately 50 feet with an average bottom time of 45 minutes, depending upon air consumption.The animals we encounter on a regular basis are: Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, up to seven species of moray eels (including the rare dragon eel), leaf and devil scorpionfish, octopus, hermit crabs, a variety of invertebrates (cone snails, auger snails, helmet snails, shrimp, sea stars, urchins), and hundreds of tropical fish!

I did a three-tour package with Dive Kauai in December 2021, the shore dive, the twilight&night dive, and the zodiac dive. I had Bri as the dive master for both day dives. She was fantastic. She gave a great pre-dive overview (more information than I could commit to memory on the spot, I'll admit, she's thorough). During the dives she was really good at spotting various critters I would have missed. When some dives comprised divers of varying experience, she kept an eye on the new-comers without disregarding the more experienced divers, still attentively showing everyone everything she could find. At the end of one dive, when everyone else was low on air, she made sure they did a proper ascent and then took me off to explore some more, giving me as much dive-time as could possibly be squeezed out of the trip. I really appreciated that -- and we check-marked a giant snail during that extended period too.

Great experience diving with Brie from Kauai down under. Very knowledgeable and safe diving trip. Saw lots of turtles and several eels.

Delilah was really nice and prifessional, she made sue everyone had a safe and fun time. This business is very organized and laid back, but very professional, huge recommendation! Plenty of turtles and fish that I have not seen before.

Fantastic dives with Logan. It was very relaxing and we got to see a lot of life. Would do it again and am sure will look up Logan when I am back in Kauai. I was nervous as I was diving after some time even though I am certified. But it all went really smoothly. Dragon eel, turtles, box fish, scorpion fish, trumpets, cornettes, octopus and a bunch of others that I am forgetting.
