Visit: Heritage Park Historical Village, 1900 Heritage Dr SW, Calgary, Alberta T2V 2X3 CanadaLocated south of downtown Calgary on the Glenmore Reservoir, Heritage Park is open year-round, and your general admission ticket includes access to various exhibits depending on the season. This interactive living history museum features more than 180 attractions that tell stories about the settlement of Western Canada, from fur trading in the 1860s to the automobile craze of the 1900s. Many of the homes, shops and machinery you see at each exhibit are original, and the informative and talented staff of interpreters — outfitted in period costumes — bring the attractions to life. Summer exhibits:The historical exhibits and attractions can be found in four main locations around the park. • 1860s Fur Trading Fort and First Nations Encampment: Learn about the Hudson’s Bay Company, which established fur trading posts across the Pacific Northwest, from Oregon to Alaska; see artifacts from First Nations people; and admire Our Lady of Peace Mission, which dates back to 1872. • 1880s Pre-Railway Settlement: Explore the temporary tent cabins that pre-settlement bachelors lived in; check out the police barracks; and see local establishments like Drew’s Saloon and Gleichen School. • 1900s Historical Village and 1910 Prairie Railway Town: Take a look at an array of historical buildings such as a blacksmith shop and the Airdrie House, an example of a comfortable but plain Western Canadian home; visit Atlas Lumber Yard; and see popular gathering spots like Alberta Bakery and Barons Snooker Parlour. • 1930s, ‘40s and ‘50s Gasoline Alley Museum and Heritage Town Square: At the Gasoline Alley Museum, you can admire several antique automobiles, such as a 1908 REO Autobuggy, a 1909 McIntyre Model M and a 1912 Buick Model 2-A Express Truck. Traveler Reviews

Location: Easy to find. I’m from Ontario, but had no issues with GPS assistance that took me right there! Parking: Annoying parking meter, but when I finally figured it out on my app it was okay. But cost me 20 mins to do so. There is ample convenient parking. Accessibility: A lot of walking, which I love. And there is an in-park shuttle & the choochoo train!!! It’s mainly flat roads, but would require a wheelchair for someone who has concerns with lengthy walking. And bring the children’s stroller. Cost: Admission ticket has to be purchased online, very user friendly. And it’s an easy scan in at the gates. There are a few stores & restaurants inside. Activities: Love the train! However; the cruise was closed. And there are rides for the children. And there was an election going on during our last election, which was super cool meeting the candidates. Staff: Very friendly & informative. The wood shop staff, the best! It’s a real workshop that I enjoyed. Future visit

Great place!! Too big to see and do all in one day!! Awesome for families, something for everyone!! Family and grandchildren, loved bakery and candy store!!

Lived in Alberta for over 20 years and had no clue how great this spot was. Our whole family enjoyed themselves and we couldn't even get half the park in! Gasoline Alley was amazing, with all the old school cars and gas pumps (with vintage signage everywhere!) Bakery was fantastic (fresh baked cheese buns anyone?) Lots of treats and some vintage carnival rides made the day complete. Yes, you need to bring your wallet - it is a little tourist-trappy. But the rides are free, so no complaints there. And the food was good! Need to go back to see the rest of the park. Oh yeah - the free boat road is worth the wait!

I’ve been to Heritage Park many times with my own children and now I’ve taken a granddaughter with me. There’s so much to see and do, I usually find one day isn’t enough to take it all in. During this visit there were less actors and actresses role playing throughout the park.

It’s an amazing place to visit in Calgary and spend time with family and children. Great opportunity to learn about Canadian pioneer life before Candian Pacific Railway started. The gasoline car gallery was very attractive. Always check out the activities by scanning the QR code right before entering the gravel road. Keep water and snacks handy.
