The 45-minute drive, after picking up all other guests, heads straight out of town towards Ba Na Ouane, a Hmong settlement just before reaching the main entrance to the Kuang Si Falls. It offers a glimpse into local life since it is home to the Hmongs, an ethnic minority who are semi-nomadic usually residing in mountainous areas at high altitudes. Their homes are typically built on one level with vast grass roofs reaching down to the ground, and are often home to more than one family. After this visit, we shortly afterwards end at the Kuang Si waterfalls. Duration: 1 hour 30 minutesStop At: Kuang Si Falls, Luang Prabang 06000 LaosKuang Si is considered as Laos' most beautiful waterfall and a must-see visit for those staying in Luang Prabang. This picture-perfect setting has turquoise waters cascading over three tiers of pools making this a popular spot for picnics. It is situated in the lush jungle adding to its scenic backdrop, and it is possible to swim in most of its pools. Picnic lunch nearby the waterfall is included.Duration: 1 hour 30 minutesStop At: Ban Xang Khong, LaosAfter exploring the waterfalls left and right, we head back to Luang Prabang but not before making a stop at the villages of Ban Xang Khong and Van Xieng Lek, villages specialized in products made out of silk and “saa paper” - a colourful paper often embedded with flowers and leaves. The paper is made from mulberry tree bark which is boiled into a pulp and laid out on a screen to dry under the sun. Gift bags, lanterns, fans, boxes and scrapbooks are made from the paper which can be bought at the village shop alongside silk items. The final part of the afternoon is reserved for a comfortable transfer back to Luang Prabang.Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
