The Neumarkt Christmas Market is Cologne's oldest Christmas Market and is curiously located on the "New Market". In the backdrop you will see the St. Apostlen’s Church and Cologne’s main shopping area. This market gleams with charmingly designed chalets and a unique “stars at night” theme. Time to go on to the most famous Christmas Market in Cologne. At Alter Markt you will find the most photogenic spot in the city, a bit touristy but manageable. Get close enough to the Christmas tree for pictures! The Kolner Dom (Cologne’s Cathedral) cannot be missed. If you are lucky, you might get to hear a choir in the church. This is heart of Cologne and where the bulk of the crowds are. Although it feels like one large Christmas market, the Alter Markt continues towards the Heumarkt where you will find several rides including the skating rink. It’s also the “Heimat der Heizel”, or the Home of the House Gnomes. Those, here known as Heinzelmännchen, play a large part in the lore of this city. Then, for some more quiet but delicious market, we go on towards the Harbor Christmas Market. With its maritime flair at the shores of the Rhein river, it’s also right next door to the Chocolate museum, so you can combine this easily with a visit after the tour. Enjoy here some mulled wine (Glühwein) see the sailors in the “Trudel”, a three-masted wooden ship. Get your sea legs ready for a sailor’s Christmas!

Appena arrivi alla cattedrale di Colonia la piazza ti avvolge e ti coinvolge in un'area natalizia che ti seguirà per tutte le piazze di una cittadina che ti accoglie e tra un ottimo panino al salmone ed un buon bicchiere di vino caldo aromatizzato lo spirito del Natale ti trascinerà

1 journée à Cologne, avec Leroy voyages au départ de Tournai. Arrivée à 10H30, départ à 21 H, nous y sommes allés pour les marchés de Noël. Quelques stands intéressants, beaucoup de monde, mais superbes décorations, thèmes différents selon les marchés. La ville n'a pas d'intérêt sauf si on veut faire les magasins, il vaut mieux visiter la Altstadt. En fin de journée, au départ du marché, où il y a la patinoire,descendre une rue aux maisons colorées, pour arriver sur les rives du Rhin, à la nuit tombée, où il y a une belle vue, illuminations bateaux, pont...Belle promenade à pied à faire en fin de journée sur la rive. Pas eu le temps ni l'envie de faire les magasins de ville, juste profiter de la déco, la vieille ville et manger quelque chose dans un resto sur la rive du Rhin, revenir par les différents marchés pour revenir vers la cathédrale, notre lieu d'embarquement en car.
