Traveler Reviews

We were at Starfish Jolly Beach from Feb 1-15, 2020. The airport transfer and check-in process went smoothly. However, there was a problem with the key for the room safe, which required trip to the front desk, as the phone in our room did not work. (each time we had a problem, and there were a few, we had to take stairs down to front desk- no elevator) Our room was on the 4th floor, with a wonderful ocean-front view...and that's the only positive aspect of the room! The door was not very secure, with visible cracks all around. In fact, it rained a fair bit during our stay, and the rain flooded our room (had to sop it up with bathroom towels). Air conditioner very noisy and didn't work well. We had a king bed made up with queen sheets that did not stay tucked in, revealing a lumpy and itchy mattress pad. The thin bedspread was old and ratty. There was no dresser to put our clothes away. Concrete shelves gave an appearance of what the rock ages, which the Flinstones may have found pos

We stayed for two weeks Jan/Feb 2020. Terrific beach and pool complex. Plenty of beach and pool beds, but they need more umbrellas. There are shops and vendors on the beach who sold all types of products and trips.Food in all restaurants was better than we expected, very good service from all staff. Entertainment was good fun, the staff tried really hard to make the evenings fun. Various games during the day but no pressure to join in. Our room was 2011, which was on the small side but had a great view. We had a few issues which were addressed very quickly, however we had to change rooms after the A/C stopped working. We did one trip, the round island Catamaran which was a great way to see the island, we booked though Wesley but there are many options to buy.

I have been to the Caribbean many times before but never to Antigua. We stayed at the Jolly Beach Resort which was very clean, well staffed, spacious and very friendly. Everyone was very welcoming from the first day and made us feel at home. Anything you needed was always available on site within a few minutes of asking. The white sandy beaches were beautiful and the ocean glowed that vibrant blue-green colour you see in documentaries. The food was great and there was always that Caribbean flair in every dish weather it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. I was originally apprehensive at first with dining options as I have multiple dietary restrictions, but had no problem finding great meals. We took a local bus into the city and discovered some wonderful places. We went to the local heritage museum for some history of the island, visited an old church that was beautiful and under renovation, stopped at Hemingway’s for lunch (which I highly recommend) and then headed to to the market t

Pristine beach and sea, but the resort itself is a very low level all inclusive site. Food and drink options were fair at best, but people were fairly friendly. For $50-60 it would have been fine, but for $120 and no transportation included it is way overpriced
