They first founded the Barbados Primate Research Centre on the site in 1982, for the conservation and study of Green Monkeys, which were brought to Barbados in the 17th century and are now widespread on the island. It was expanded into a wildlife reserve in 1985, with funding from the Canadian International Development Agency. Was not able to do the tour because of injury I have a hard time getting a refund. Would like Viator to Contact me for a refund

A great half day tour covering earthworks pottery, flower forest, St. John’s parish church, lunch at Sand Dunes in Bathsheba and finally a visit to the wildlife sanctuary (definitely stay for feeding time at 2pm!). A packed itinerary but it never felt rushed as we had plenty of time in each location. Our tour guide, Ricky, was very knowledgeable and friendly and even took a little detour to show us Rihanna drive! A great tour covering many of the major attractions across the island - highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our tour. Cindy is a great guide and is extremely knowledgeable. She has a great sense of humour and made us feel very welcome. The tour itself was a perfect length and we visited some great places. The wildlife sanctuary visit was timed perfectly as we got to see the feeding of the animals which was a great experience. Cindy even took the take to take us by some local food stores on the way back - she is brilliant :)

Our driver arrived early, so there was no standing around and waiting. Bus was nice, driver friendly and knowledgeable. Tour was enjoyable with a good cross section of activities, something for all !!! The lunch and drinks provided were very tasty and at no time did we feel rushed like some tours make you feel. It ended up being a longer day then what we had expected and was worth the money for a days enjoyment.

We really enjoyed the Barbados Island Tour with the Wildlife Sanctuary included tour. Our guide Ricky picked us up on time and throughout the tour provided interesting facts on the areas we traveled through. The tour had stops at Earthworks Pottery, the Flower Forest, Bathsheba beach and the Wildlife Sanctuary. It also included a really good lunch at a local restaurant on the way. We chose to do the island tour at the beginning of our vacation to get an overview of the island and see some of the sites. This tour was an excellent way to do that, and gave us some ideas for other things we wanted to see. I will highly recommend this to others!
