Traveler Reviews

We had a fantastic day in the old city of Cuenca. The houses built on and in and down the mountains were amazing. The highlight for us was the walking tour of the old town in the morning while the rest of the group went to the Enchanted City. We had 3 hour tour with David. We were mesmerised and amused by his tales of the history, architecture and art of the city. He was very friendly, accommodating and happy to answer our many questions. We felt lucky to have such a knowledgeable and learned guide. Thank you David.

Martha was our tour guide and she was fantastic. Friendly, funny, knowledgeable. She gets a 5 star rating. The Enchanted City was much more interesting than expected and I really enjoyed it. My problem with this tour is the limited amount of time in Cuenca, and with it getting dark so early we only had about 30 minutes to see the city with any type of daylight. I would have preferred to spend my free hour seeing the city in daylight, not in the dark.

Great little town which my husband and I enjoyed very much. The young man that served as our tour guide and whose name I can't recall did an excellent job translating from Spanish to English as there were a few English speaking tourists in our group. The visit to the cathedral was amazing but we didn't like the museum because we are not into modern art. The hotel pick up in the morning was handled well, however, it is not a round-trip service so you will have to find your own way back to your hotel. The only disappointing fact about Cuenca and the "hung houses" is that there's only three of the houses left and there's no history on them whatsoever. All in all, I recommend the tour.
