Stop At: St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), Szent Istvan ter 1, Budapest 1051 Hungary"Szent István Bazilika" is the biggest church and the highest building of Budapest. The Catholic church was named after the first Christian king of Hungary, St. Stephen, whose body was buried there. His right hand, the Holy Dexter, is still preserved, and can be seen. The neo-classicist church also gives place for music concerts.At Christmas time the spacious square by the glorious Basilica hosts the Advent fair on a high-level. It’s Christmas market is centred by a small ice-skating rink open to children, while the biggest attraction is a 3D light show projected onto the Basilica façade every hour after sunset. In December its grandious Christmas Fair opens, offering local handicrafts, traditional trinkets and some of the most typical Hungarian dishes – stews, lángos and grilled sausages.
