Traveler Reviews

My wife and I were really lucky that we had a lovely tour and at the right time there were showers which did not impact on the enjoyment. Good information on the bus on the outward segment. A nice way to spend a few hours. The meeting and drop off point is easy enough to find.

We got the 43 bus from Edinburgh to the South Ferry having booked the boat tickets in advance. The bus takes about 35 minutes and then about a 10 minute walk to the ferry boarding point. During the walk to the ferry there is a good view of the Forth Bridge. It was simple to to get the ticket and wait on the quay for the boat. There were a lot of people for the 11 am trip that we were booked for, a number of families with children. It was a windy day on the water and folks need to be properly attired for the weather. There was good narration on the vessel explaning the history and what we were seeing. Unfortunately we were not able to see any seals or puffins that day. At Incholm island it was explained that anyone who wished to disembark would have to wait for the later boat to be picked up again from the island at least an hour later! We chose not to do that in such inclement weather on a timy island with only 2 chapels to see. Quite a few people chose to disembark. This was a nic

The tour might be short, as you don't go far from the shore, but the stories told by the guides are really interesting. Not only that you learn new historical facts, but you find out fascinating information about  fauna and maritime life too. The engineering and architectural aspects of the bridges make the tour worth as well. You also have the chance to stop on the Inchcolm island for an extra fee, that seems quite a peaceful activity to do.

Me and my partner went on this tour today. The views were amazing, we received lots of interesting information as we were going around. It was also a very relaxing experience. Sadly for us no signs of seals but we got told that a lot of the females are currently heavily pregnant and it’s not the time of year, so we didn’t get lucky. There was a man working on the cruise with shoulder length hair, who was so lovely and chatty, answered any questions we had.

Boat trip was interesting and informative. Tour guide was knowledgeable ad the ride was smooth and relaxing. Reasonable value for the money.
