My husband and I were visiting Hawaii on our honeymoon. Despite the tour's early start (we were picked up from our hotel at 2 AM!), the view was worth it! The shuttle bus brought us to the top of Haleakala, where we learned a little about the park and the volcano. We stayed a little past sunrise before heading roughly halfway down the mountain. Once there, we got our bikes and rode downhill! The guides were patient with me (even though I was a little nervous!), and they made sure we stopped often to take pictures and remove some of our layers of clothing. Since the elevation of Haleakala is about 10,000 feet and you're up there before sunrise, I recommend layering up since it's under 30 degrees! You'll quickly warm up during your bike ride down, as the temperature quickly rises after the sun rises! Definitely one of the highlights of our trip so I highly recommend!

The Haleakala Tour was incredible!!! Our guide on the way up the volcano was extremely knowledgeable and shared some fascinating facts and stories for the entire trip. The bike ride down the volcano was so much fun!! The entire family really enjoyed not only the ride but our instructor Russell who was great!!! He made the downhill bike tour oh really fun and memorable experience!!

We didn’t get to see the sunrise because it was a very cloudy day, so I can’t speak to that, I have heard it was awesome. The day itself was nice, the ride is easy if you are a biker that isn’t scared of occasional adjacent cars and some speed. All downhill, almost no pedaling. This is definitely not a workout. The issue really is that the cost was not worth it, I would do this again if it was $75. I paid $250 and what was offered was definitely not worth it. No lunch or breakfast snacks included either, which just seems nickel and dimey because of the cost. My family was fine because we brought our own snacks and water, but other people in our group were getting lightheaded and very hungry. The tour was 8 hours, but the actual riding was 1.5-2 hours. Took more time and money out of my trip than it was worth. This was a highlight of our trip to Maui and we did a lot! I would recommend this to both adventure seekers and families alike. The tour guides have been doing this for years so they have everything planned out. When you’re up at the top of the volcano and that sun comes up you’ll be wowed and then the 23 mile downhill ride is just awesome! Our guide was a walking Encyclopedia of Maui history and shared some great nuggets of information throughout the trip. The beaches are great in Maui and adding this excursion certainly made the trip extra special. Keep up the good work team!

This was a great adventure. While the clouds didn't cooperate for a view of the sunrise, the bike tour was great. Our guide was excellent and I felt very safe biking down the mountain. I would recommend the guided tour as the van blocks out traffic so you feel safe and can truly enjoy the bike tour.
