Traveler Reviews

A great tour. In three hours Balint gave us far more than just an insight of life under soviet rule. Informative throughout, Balint utilised the efficient public transport system to move us quickly around the city, enabling us to see as much as possible. Viewing the 'commie blocks' was a highlight. Starting at a soviet cafe (where we ate prior to the tour) and finishing at the House of Terror meant that we able to squeeze even more into the half day. Balint works hard to ensure that you hear and see the maximum. We all thoroughly enjoyed this informative tour. Thank you Balint.

Very informative and he was accurate in his history! Very wonderful tour! Started on time and answered questions as needed.

Balint was an excellent storyteller, the tour as a whole was a great experience. Definitely recommended tour!

Met our guide Andras in a communist era cafe which set the scene for a two hour light hearted but thorough immersion into the socialist world of post war Hungary. Andras eluded to the social, economic ,environmental and political experience that for better or for worse was to dominate Hungary’s citizens in this controlling political scene. We enjoyed going into the Police HQ and parliamentary quarter and the anecdotes which were balanced and informative. I highly recommend Andras as a guide and the tour in general.

Hi. The best way to see and get immersed in the culture and history of this city is with a local historical guide that lives here.
