Hands down, THE best tour of any Caribbean port/city/island we have EVER had. Our guide was Faustino. He was knowledgeable, kind and professional. Protocols were followed the entire tour. The driver was Rosario, he was great and made sure we were comfortable and that we stayed hydrated in the heat of the day. Every stop was informative and truly reflected the beautiful culture of the DR. Our family has a teenager and a 20 year old- so you can imagine, it’s hard to find tours and activities that all of us will enjoy. Well, this was a home run. Such a beautiful place and hosts that made us feel welcome. This Kentucky family is excited to return someday, all because of this tour.

I just visited Puerto Plata, it was a trip with my family, for my roundtrip transportation I used EXCEPTCUST TOURS, they offered me very good service, I asked them for car seat boosters and they brought them to me, they also took us on a tour of the city of Puerto Plata and we had a great time, Jennifer was always attentive to our needs and they were always very punctual, they also helped us with the covid test, if you visit Puerto Plata call Jennifer, they will take care of you very well, thank you Jennifer for everything

Rosario and Chepe were waiting at the meet point. I was unsure of this ahead of time - if you book a tour through these guys, it is a private tour. They do not add anyone else into your group. So if you meet someone onboard your ship and want to bring them along - do so! The charge is per person, not per tour/group, so the cost per person would not change. The vehicle we used was plenty big, easily fits six, probably eight. And adding more people to the tour will help these wonderful people stay in business. We visited all the points listed in their description. The line for the cable car was longer than hoped, but not bad, and definitely worth a little wait. Chepe told me where to stand to get on the car first, so I could take easily take photos during the ride. The views from the top were great. The center park and cathedral were nice, good stop. The fort was a lovely area, on the shore - we didn't take the time to go into the fort, as we have seen many forts previously.

Ich wurde von Rosario und dem Tourguide (leider habe ich seinen Namen vergessen, sorry, ich kann mir Namen nicht gut merken) pünktlich am Hafenausgang in Amber Cove abgeholt. Da wir mit einem amerikanischen Schiff gekommen waren, war ich offenbar die einzige Deutsche. Der Tourguide sprach neben Englisch sogar etwas Deutsch. Die Tour führte uns zunächst mit der Seilbahn auf den Isabel de Torres. Da es noch sehr früh war, war dort der Andrang nicht groß, daher gute Planung. Dann ging es noch in die Stadt, zu einer Rumfabrik, einer Zigarrenmanufaktur, zu einer Schokoladenfabrik, der Festung San Felipe, der Kathedrale und zum Mittagessen. Neben dem Mittagessen gab es noch kalte Getränke im Fahrzeug und auch W-LAN. Die Tour war insgesamt sehr gelungen und empfehlenswert.

I found these guys on TripAdvisor, they are as good as reviewers said. Rosario and Chepe showed up on time. Nice air conditioning van with high speed wifi and cold drinks. Both tour guide (Chepe) and driver (Rosario) are very friendly and attentive, speak English well. We did the Puerto Plata tour. Because we don’t get up early, we only had 5 hours, (that’s why we do private tour, right?), so we skipped the cable car. We had a wonderful time in Puerto Plata historic center. It’s a small town with charming Spanish style, colorful buildings, town square, church... There are cigar factory, chocolate factory and amber jewelry stores.... We bought some great organic chocolates. The tour includes lunch. They took us to this nice local restaurant, buffet style, we got to try little bit of everything, fish, pork chop, beef, beans and rice, veggies.... it was tasty!
