Traveler Reviews

The tour was a great experience. We got to learn quite a few new things we did not know before. Christopher was a very nice and knowledgeable tour guide, and explained the history very well. We got to see and tour historical areas and sites in Berlin, and buy some bubble tea along the way for our son! He has our recommendation for people who are interested in German (and Berliner) history.

Our walking tour of Hitler’s Berlin made our weekend. Chris was knowledgeable, friendly, and we had plenty of opportunities to ask him questions. The walk was well paced and he explained what happened at different sites and buildings. His stories brought the whole period of time to life and we gained such an in-depth understanding of many events and people. It was super interesting and my whole group would highly recommend!

Fantastic tour - Chris really knows his history, and has honed the complicated mass of detail into a concise but subtle presentation with just the right mix of facts and psychological insight. He manages to convey the horrors of the Nazi regime right up to the last days of brutal fighting in the Battle of Berlin without dehumanizing the central figures, whose inhumanity was all too human. The tour itself is an easy walk that covers most of the key sites in Mitte (central Berlin), ending at the Topography of Terror, which provides a nice bridge to the Soviet occupation of much of the city that came next. I take walking tours in most cities I visit and I highly recommend this tour, which was at least as good as more expensive ones I’ve enjoyed elsewhere. Chris was also kind enough to go ahead with the tour even though I was the only person to sign up.

Chris was fantastic - he was really enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Our children (aged 15,13,11) loved the tour. It was a really chilly day in Berlin, but Chris's story telling kept the children hooked and none of us had any problem with our engagement levels during the tour. I would recommend this to any families who would like to show their children the important historical sights in Berlin, but don't know enough to teach the children themselves!

Chris was very well informed with the history he was conveying during our tour. I learned a lot about Berlin’s history and found Chris very warm and personable.
