ItineraryThis is a typical itinerary for this productStop At: Miravalles Volcano, Area de Conservacion Guanacaste Costa RicaThis trip is still almost a secret and takes us to one of Guanacaste's most active volcanoes: The Miravalles! An untamed mountain covered in rainforest and letting us safely visit the only walkable crater in Costa Rica. Our day on this trip is very diverse. Along our drive to the volcano we will visit one of the country's most beautiful waterfalls and if you liked to, you can bring your swimsuits and swim under the majestic water curtain. Our next stop will be the crater at Miravalles where we will see lots of geothermal activity and sense the mighty power from below us. We will have a volcanic mud bath and relax in the hot springs before lunch and then we will experience the tropical rainforest on a moderate hike along some breathtaking hanging-bridges and three more waterfalls! Rainer is an amazing tour guide and excellent driver. Seriously, he's the best driver I've ridden with in Costa Rica. He knows so many facts about the area, and he has a great sense of humor.

Amazing experience! Our tour guy Rodney did an awesome job giving us the history of Guanacaste. The mud baths were my favorite part. Definitely worth it!

We were looking for a day trip that wasn't on the typical Costa Rica checklist. And we wanted a volcano. Enter Miravalles and Carlos at Pininos Adventures. Carlos was engaging, flexible, and knowledgeable - everything we want in a guide for a day trip. We asked all sorts of questions about Costa Rican culture, agriculture, and history, and always got a solid response. Our van was very clean and comfortable.
We enjoyed every piece of this tour - from swimming at the waterfall to the hike to a sloth spotting, to a delicious Casado lunch. (Vegetarian option is great!) But the best part was the mud bath, natural sauna, and hot spring baths. What a relaxing way to end the day!
We also used Pininos Adventures for our airport transfer, which was perfect. Highly recommend.

We booked a tour through Pinino’s because we had used them for our transfers from the airport and they thoroughly enjoyed sharing information about their country. Carlos was entertaining and provided so much information. We found out they offered a lot more than transfers and decided to book the Miravalles crater and waterfalls tour after looking through their site. They have some amazing tours! The tour was amazing. Carlos was on time to pick us up and again shared so much info with us. It was a full day of beautiful scenery, waterfalls, suspension bridges, crater, hot springs, a mud bath and a fabulous lunch. We loved every minute of it!!

This tour included a stop at a waterfall, authentic Costa Rican lunch, hike through the forest canapoy, walk through a volcano crator, and mud bath. Truely a great time! Our tour guide, Carlos, was very informative. I will advise that the hike through the canopy is not for someone who has a fear of heights, or is not sure footed. There are some sketchy walkways on steep, steep, mountainsides. AND, (most amazing, if your up for it!) there are cable bridges across the canopy. It is breathtaking, exciting, and exhilierating!
