Traveler Reviews

I had such an unforgettable time with Kim! She was very warm and welcoming, so I felt comfortable to be at her house from the beginning. She is an American women who is open minded and knowledgeable. We talked a lot about food and cultures in Bordeaux, Paris, and Japan where I’m from. She had professional experiences in design industry and has traveled a lot. I enjoyed how she sees the world with wider perspective. I had local appetizers and aperitif which were really great. Goat cheese was the best! She even invited me to join her work at a market in the next morning which is not included in this tour. That was just heartwarming and learned a lot how she does. Excellent experience, highly recommended!!

Before traveling to Bordeaux i had heard about a American living in there who spoke perfect French and invited travelers to her home for drinks and nibbles before going to their dinners. I went with several friends and we had the time of of our life, and this was just the beginning of our trip! Kim Freeman's energy and outgoing personality, and her charming home in the Chartrons quarter of Bordeaux (she was a magazine design editor in a former life) made us want to just hang out her her living room all night! She is not only filled with info about navigating the culinary and cultural treasures of Bordeaux but she gave us information about day and weekend trips around Bordeaux, of which there are legion! If yours is a long stay as ours was, you will want to spend another evening with her before you leave! Her drinks and appetizers are all from the classic offerings of the region.
