Traveler Reviews

On arrival you take a short steam train journey, and you get to see a fabulous view over the Atlantic side of the island. Then there is a tour of the house (which ends with a fantastic video narrated by tremendous old English gentleman, telling you about the history of barbados and the sugar and rum trades. You then get to sample some of the rums. Our host was the very entertaining Simon, who's family I believe are the current owners. You are free to walk around the distillery, and purchase some rum (which is delicious but pricey) A very enjoyable couple of hours spent.

Beautiful house and grounds which are being restored and maintained by the Warren family. The addition of the Steam train is a nice touch, if a bit of a gimmick, but at least the views from Cherry Hill are beautiful. The rum side of the distillery was a little disappointing. You are able to try a small amount of the 5 year and it was nice to meet Simon, but they don’t offer any other tastings or tours of the distillery part of the site unless you specifically book onto that package. It would have been nice to learn more about the other rums they make and to be able to try them before committing to purchasing anything.

What an absolutely beautiful place, the house, the grounds, surroundings - heavenly! Rum punch was good too, the best in our 3weeks here so far! Staff were really fun and friendly, great that they took such pride in their place of work- like one big family. Speaking of family… Simon, incredible host but your jokes are too corny ??????, a pleasure meeting you with your super powers ???? I look forward to seeing you all again when I return WITH my husband???? Until then, may the rum flow freely and the laughter continue for you all. Thank you for a lovely few hours ????

I have visited this place many many times and done the tours and everytime you see or learn something new. There's a magic to this place it makes you feel like your in a different time, the surroundings are spectacular and beautiful and of course the rum tasting is a must. I'm a big rum lover and they have some of the best rum I've ever tasted. I want to personal thank the team for helping me get a bottle of rum and have it engraved last minute as a gift. The customer service is some off the best I've ever experienced. Thank you again to Anna warren you really went up and beyond for me.

Difficult to find but worth it. From the lady at the front gate to the staff on the train, the staff in gift shop, staff in distillery and the staff in the cafeteria, I raise my hat to you all. You were all very knowledgeable and remained professional at all times. The whole tour was very informative but just felt it lacked information about days of slavery and could easily be included in the tour. The short film was a great addition and the humour was suited. Although it poured down on/off it didn’t spoil the day. We spent easily 4 hours. White rum hand sanitizer is great. Fresh lemonade is sweet n refreshing.
