We have mixed feelings about this tour! On one hand, La Fortuna Waterfall and the views of the Arenal Volcano are worth the long trip from/back to San Jose (but definitely do not go on a Sunday or you will have to suffer the horrible traffic, specially in an uncomfortable van). We were disappointed with our guide Jairo since he wanted to show us the La Fortuna waterfall from afar in an observation deck and we had to push hard for him to let us go down the trail and actually enjoy the amazing waterfall and dip into it (believe me is worth the hike!) and he didn’t go down with us. The Mystic Park with the hanging bridges was nice but I feel he took too much time of the trip to “show” us and talk about animals that were not seen at the time and plants that we were not into it. That left little time to enjoy the hot thermal baths at the resort. He was great in other things like he actually spotted a sloth trying to cross the road and we were able to take pictures and be in close proximity

Be prepared for rain if you are going in October/November! The rain was light but steady. Wear good shoes w/ grip; there are quite a bit of inclines on the hanging bridge tour.
Ask for Hayro! He was super knowledgeable about the animals, plants, history and Costa Rican culture. We happened to go on a really great day with several clear views of the volcano. Hayro let’s you tailor the trip to your liking; more time here or less time there depending on what interests you :) Breakfast and lunch were provided and we stopped for souvenirs and fruits

Foi um tour privado, onde o motorista foi também foi meu guia. Hayro foi atencioso, divertido, responsável e tinha um conhecimento enorme sobre as plantas e animais que vimos durante a caminhada no Místico Arenal. Foi um dia muito divertido e prazeroso. Apesar de estar sozinha, me senti segura e confortável durante todo o tempo. Novamente, deixou aqui minha gratidão ao Hayro. Obrigada pela conversa, pelo conhecimento e por toda atenção comigo.
Recomendo a todos o passeio.

Nuestro guía es muy experimentado desde que llegamos a la catarata La Fortuna nos mostró mucho de la fauna y flora del lugar. Nos relajamos en las piscinas de aguas termales. Excelente todo.
