Traveler Reviews

We had a great time with Go Hike Alaska. The guide picked us up right on time from downtown Anchorage. It was the first time snowshoeing for both of us and she made sure we were both comfortable with the equipment and hooked in correctly. We had a fun hike through a beautiful area and she was friendly and knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. As a bonus, we had to switch days at the last minute and Go Hike Alaska was able to accommodate us.

My girlfriend and I went on a hike on April 14th with Gregg. We tried the beginner's snowshoeing and boy what an astounding experience that was! If you are visiting Alaska and you want to experience the real Alaskan vibe, I would highly recommend considering them! When we started hiking, it started to snow a little which added more depth to our hike. Gregg is extremely knowledgeable about Alaska and his advice of viewing the Aurora Borealis came in very handy as we were able to finally see the lights! Next time I am back in Alaska, I am definitely going on a longer hike with GoHikeAlaska.

My daughter and I spent a fantastic morning with Gregg in the Chugach Mountains above Anchorage. It was a crisp, sunny day and the scenery was spectacular. Gregg was an extremely pleasant and knowledgeable guide who was attuned to our interests and ability levels, and we both enjoyed talking with him as we tromped through the snow in this beautiful setting. He had a very relaxed, easygoing style and we both felt comfortable with him almost immediately. It was clear that he loved what he was doing and enjoyed sharing it with others. He made a point of taking pictures of us together, despite the fact that his hands must have been freezing. He also provided a great recommendation for dinner that evening--best meal of the trip. It was a completely satisfying experience and one of the highlights of our late winter visit to Alaska.

Matt can take all levels of abilities and make snow shoeing a fun adventure for all! Our group had a blast at Glenn Alps with him!
