Overview
ItineraryThis is a typical itinerary for this productStop At: Chugach State Park, 18620 Seward Hwy, Anchorage, AK 99516, USAWe will visit either Rendezvous Mile High Ridgeline, two of the best ridgelines in the entire Chugach State Park. They feature both alpine scenes and 360 views of the Anchorage Bowl. We'll determine which location we visit based on weather and group ability the day of the hike.Ridgeline trekking is an incredibly unique way to see the landscape. While the ascent can be tough, once you arrive at the top, it is truly remarkable. You can see forever! On a clear day, we can even see Mt. Denali hundreds of miles away! Plus, the terrain can be fairly flat, making the trekking a truly enjoyable experience. During the tour, we may see moose, bear, Dall sheep, mountain goats, and a variety of small mammals like arctic squirrels and marmots. There are also plenty of birds to gaze at like bald eagles, thrushes, chickadees, and jays. This is one of our favorite ways to hike Alaska and the Chugach State Park. Transportation included in total time of tour:(1 hour transportation & 4 hours hiking)Duration: 4 hours

Traveler Reviews

Excellent experience, Matt lead a fantastic hike. Highly recommend. Look forward to another adventure with he and his trecking company.

My husband and I did the Alpine Classic Trek at the end of August and it was absolutely one of the highlights of our time in Alaska. Matt was a fantastic guide, hitting the perfect mix of laid-back fun and expertise. He was very knowledgeable about the local wildlife and helped us safely forage some tasty berries while keeping us feeling safe and energized on the unfamiliar terrain of the national park. We found the website description of the trek to be very accurate. Matt picked us up at the meeting point precisely at the noted time and had us back in town as expected, following Covid protocols during transit. We hiked for about three hours and although we didn't find the uphill portion too strenuous, we were very thankful for the hiking poles he provided for the slippery, muddy route back down. Overall, this was a super fun (and educational!) way to see the area!

This hike was excellent! Our guide, Greg, took us to a trail outside of Anchorage that we would have never found on our own, given this was our first trip to AK. Greg is really kind, insightful, and all around a cool guy. He went out of his way to ensure our safety and enjoyment. Would highly recommend to those who like to hike. Great way to see AK from yet another beautiful perspective. Many thanks to Greg!

What awesome views!! This is not the right hike for you if you don’t want to put in the effort to get to the top. The first 45 minutes of the climb are the toughest. But if you do, the views are spectacular. Our guide Greg was great. Providing interesting facts about the area and just general information about Alaska. Would do it again just for the view!

Our hike up Mt. Baldy was a great experience. Madison, our guide, was knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about the vegetation in the area. The hike itself was relaxing and not too strenuous. It would be good for families or anyone who wants a nice workout and scenic view. This was a great hike to begin our trip in Alaska. This hike got us used to the area and helped prepare us for hikes later in our trip. We would recommend this hike to anyone!
