The pristine Milford Sound is part of the World Heritage Fiordland National Park, in the south west of the South Island, and is famed for its remote atmosphere and rugged beauty. It is New Zealand’s best known fiord and the only one that can be reached by road. Maori are believed to have discovered Milford Sound more than 1,000 years ago, returning seasonally to collect the prized pounamu (greenstone). In the early 1800s John Grono was the first European settler to land in the sound, which he named after Milford Haven in Wales. Traveler Reviews

The Great Sights tour was amazing, from pick up to drop off. The scenery....nature at its finest. From Paulie our driver and his commentary of the history and knowledge of the area and personal stories of his travels there were fantastic and humorous. The road trip is awesome, from dry to rain to snow...amazing...the Homer tunnel and pass were just awesome. Then you have the boat tour...simply awesome, we had rain, avalanches, waterfalls, seals, towering mountains, rainbows...just magical. The crew were friendly, helpful and also knowledgeable. We had very few people on our tour which was fantastic and enhanced our experience. Don't pass up the opportunity to do this tour with this fantastic company with amazing people. Highly recommend...?????

This was the first thing we did when we touched down in NZ and was absolutely amazing. Milford sounds is a pure beauty of the world and incredible to experience. We stopped at a few spots along the one, each just as beautiful as the last. Paulie was our host and he was great. Extremely informative, passionate and funny. We would definitely recommend this trip and awesome NZ to anyone.

The entire experience was great start to finish. Our bus driver/tour guide to and from Milford was David and he was really brilliant, so kind and knowledgeable and made us feel really safe as he drove. Highly recommend this company! Lunch was ample and healthy and the cruise was awe inspiring!
