Visit: Mountain Jade, 1288 Fenton Street, Rotorua 3010 New ZealandOn arrival, your guide will welcome you into our jade carving studio, where the tour will begin. They will share their expertise on jade and explore the history of jade carving in New Zealand before introducing you to the local artists who work in the studio. The artists will then show you the tools and techniques they use to carve jade and some of their current work in progress. You can watch as they transform raw stone into carved art and ask them questions as they work. After visiting our studio, you'll get to choose a piece of New Zealand pounamu, and your guide will show you how to string it into a necklace to take home. After the tour, you're welcome to visit our jade gallery, which hosts the largest and most diverse collection of jade carvings in New Zealand.
