Traveler Reviews

Angel was a great and informative guide. I was most impressed with the amount of food provided. I left full.

We have been to San Jose a few times but this time wanted to get a better understanding of the city. Gladys did not disappoint! Excellent guide! She gave us an interesting historical overview of the city and introduced us to new foods. Such a fun time. Highly recommend!! We were concerned about COVID but felt quite safe. We kept our masks on and in the tight market spaces just brought our samples outdoors to try.

Gladys was a wonderful tour guide, showing us the markets and the cultural and historic sites of San Jose. I highly recommend!

Gladys was an excellent guide, answering all of our questions and providing us with a fully immersive experience. We tasted unique fruits we had never tried. We really loved the tour through the markets.

The most memorable parts were the markets, the co-op and the one with more food stands, plus the coffee roaster. Only downside, which is just a caution, is that we were walking & on our feet for about 3 hours, so just be prepared. The restaurant at the end was a treat, though, and well worth the trek to get there. Learned a lot about San Jose, & our guide, Gladys, was the best. All-in-all, we got our money’s worth plus!
