Traveler Reviews

Very informative museum on Bordeaux wines and its history. Would highly recommend this as a primer to Bordeaux wine and its wine region. Love the tasting in the end too - the highlight to the tour was the Sauternes raisins we got to try together with the wine! One more thing - unlike most places you don’t need to prebook tickets for these in advance. It’s possible to just walk in and start the self guided tour with tasting right after.

Let me start by saying I’m not a wine buff but I do like a tipple, we visited today & found the whole experience excellent, you start with a trip through the old cellars where everything is laid out in a simple format (which for me personally is very good) you go through at your own pace. This is followed by an introduction to the wine growing in the area & a couple of tasters. Gregory (the owner) & his staff are very knowledgeable & informative, there are wines for sale but there is no hard selling all in all this was a very enjoyable & informative couple of hours, I would definitely recommend anyone to visit. When we return to the area we will definitely be returning for a second visit.

Interesting small museum with very informative explanation of the various wine regions in Bordeux. Also, they provided a Great scent game for the kids while we were tasting wines.

allow about one hour to easily explore this well kept old wine storage cellar turned museum. it displays the history of the wine business from antiquity to today for the Bordeaux region. english explanations are offered next to the french ones. following your self-guided tour you may sit for a short presentation discussing the different wines of the region and then will taste two of those. Yolaine led our discussion with a friendly and knowledgeable presentation. as a wine experience teacher in louisiana, i found her discussion informative and passionate. two very good qualities for opening up the world of wine to others.

Highly educational ! A smaller museum where it is easier to learn about the history and trade of wine. In addition to the history, we had an excellent and informative wine tasting with Manuela, who explained the regions of Bordeaux and present day wine making techniques. Truly a worthwhile visit ! Thank you !
