Traveler Reviews

me and my mother went to the doka estate for a coffee tour and had the best time. we were given a tour by a gentleman who spoke amazing english and only toured us two! before being toured we were given a small explanation of our day and shown where to sit and wait and sip on complimentary coffee. the tour was so fun and informative and he could answer every question we had even ones not related to coffee! the grounds also had a beautiful butterfly garden that was amazing and a beautiful view of their coffee plantation. amazing experience even out of season!

Great introduction and review to Costa Rican coffee. We only did the tour and found our guide to be professional, intelligent, and friendly; from beam to roasted bean, all steps were covered ending with some brew to drink at the end. Higher elevation, strong sun, beautiful landscape.

While on a tour of Costa Rica we stopped at the Doka Estate for a Coffee tour. It was very educational seeing the process from picking the beans, processing them, drying them out and making coffee. Even though I dislike coffee I did enjoy the chocolate covered coffee beans.

I took a local tour and went to Doka estate to tour their growing, processing and tasting the finished product. I enjoyed seeing the coffees at varying stages and how the banana were roasted and packaged. I especially enjoyed the little coffee shop.

The Doka Estate Coffee Tour, was very good, and our guide explained the whole process of coffee production very well. Unfortunately, early March, was not the best time, as the trees had recently had the coffee cherries picked, so there were none to see on the plants, and most stages of the processing had to be explained, rather than seen. However, it was an interesting tour, which we were glad we did.
