Traveler Reviews

We left early in the morning and we went quickly through a passport check, There´s little tax free shop before boarding. We were 4 adults and the boat trip lasted about 45 min. The ship was full. You can buy coffee and snacks from the ship. We went from Marmaris to Rhodes. There is no long to walk from the port of Rhodes to old town. There is nice alleys to walk and ruins to explore. Prices are expensive compared to Turkey. Also be careful there were African ladies who very forcefully try to put bracelets on your arm and then demand money from you. Just ignore them. Way back to Marmaris. In Rhodes the passport check queue was long and it was hot queuing in the sun. I recommend that you bring water along to drink. Slowly we moved forward. In Marmaris everything worked fast again. I recommend!

We arrived early which wasa good job as its much nicer on the top deck. It only takes about an hour to sail across to Turkey. The veiws on the the way are worth the trip alone. When you get to Turkey be prepaired for a wait to get through customs. Two custom officers on the desk that are not interested in making the job quick at all. Great trip around the town. If you have time try out the resturants near the harbour geat sea food. Watch out in the bazar they will sell you anything that you dont want.

Lovely blue sea, very hot. There is a city tour bus as you come out of the port. Worth it if you want a quick hop on and off tour but just remember you must be on bus within an hour otherwise your ticket will be invalid or stuck possibly. I remained on the bus till I saw where the nearest restaurant was. Market and Castle is a nice walk, you will be bombarded by people to entice you to their eatery or buy something. There is a mosque and church as you walk up the cobbled street and around the castle remains. Beware on way back Greek police can be an idiot if you are a single parent travelling. One asked a ridiculous question and I am still fuming over that.

Great day out, Rhodes town is an interesting place and minutes from the port. We were an adult family of six and all enjoyed our day. The old town is beautiful and it is lovely round the harbour. . BE AWARE that although it takes an hour each way you heed to add another each way for pasport control.Do not eat/drink in the old town as it is very expensive we got this tip from our Hotel, Lunched at Georges in new town very reasonable prices and plenty choice, went to have afternoon drinks in old town and menu had no prices,I asked for prices and was given a different menu showng silly prices so we left. Don`t be ripped off .Also be aware there are African ladies who very forcefully try too put bracelets on your arm and then demand money from you. You have to be rude and ignore them.
