Traveler Reviews

I didn't know what to expect but this was an amazing day. Donald was so delightful. He went out of his way to make sure we saw everything. Dianna was sweet and cook a great meal that we enjoyed overlooking the ocean. It is a casual, laid back day but full of interesting things to learn. I'd recommend this to anyone heading to Freeport.

The experience was honestly not like I expected but better. My mother and I went on a cruise and wanted to get a locals perspective on the island. Donald was able to give us so much knowledge about the island. He drove us all over after we had an amazing home cooked lunch. The knowledge I gained about Freeport and the Bahamas as a whole I would not have been able to gain if he wouldn’t have offered this tour. I highly recommend booking if you plan to be in Freeport and want want something different. He shows you the real Freeport not to scare you but to educate you. Donald knows everyone and everyone knows him. People spoke to him time and time again making us feel completely comfortable in our surroundings. Again if you are looking for a great lunch and to see the island from a locals standpoint this is the way to go.

We did the culural food tour with Diana. She was very sweet and we were picked up on time. After driving for about 10 minutes she informed us that we would be having lunch at her home instead of the original location. Not being familiar with the area we felt very vulnerable. We sat through an hour long talk of history some of which was interesting but a lot was just to fill the time. This was also described as a skip the line tour and there wasn't another person in sight. When we were leaving the cultural house her car would not start. She had to pop the hood and fix something. Again we were very uncomfortable. We said we would not be staying for lunch or anymore touring just to take us back to the ship. Although as I said Diana was very sweet I would not recommend this tour.

We had an amazing time! Donald knew some much about the island and was passionate about the culture. He showed us what it was really like for the local people. He drove us to all over the island, we saw saw hurricane ravaged buildings, resorts and homes, but we also saw the resilience of the people. He taught us about Bush medicine and showed us the true beauty of the island. The lunch they served was sooo good, Chef Princess Diana is an amazing cook. And the meal was served on the beach with amazing views. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who plans on visiting the island.
