My partner and I had a wonderful experience doing the tea ceremony in kimonos. The setting felt really special and Aya and her husband were such welcoming and fun hosts. We learnt lots about Japanese traditions and culture and they were happy to answer lots of questions. We really appreciated them taking excellent photos for us during the ceremony which meant we could just enjoy it. Would highly recommend to friends as a must do in Kyoto!
Such a wonderful experience! We enjoyed learning about tea ceremonies with the knowledgeable hosts, they made it very special with great attention to detail and heartfelt instruction. Would thoroughly recommend
We had a lovely tea ceremony in kimono class and it was such a wonderful experience. We got to learn a lot about the history of tea ceremony, the stories behind traditions, and make our own tea. Our teacher, Aya, is very knowledgable, courteous, and a lovely person to had this class with. We wish we had more time in Kyoto to take more classes here, they all look so fun and educational.
I was supposed to do the tea ceremony with a friend, but he got sick last-minute and I ended up going alone. Aya and her husband were very friendly and welcoming to me! They answered all of my questions about the tea ceremony, and I had a great time learning parts of the tea ceremony and its history. They gave me some great recommendations for things to do and places to visit while I’m in Kyoto, and they also gave me some extra sweets at the end to give to my friend who couldn’t make it. I highly recommend SAKURA to anyone visiting Kyoto, and thank you again!
