Our Tea Ceremony is held on the second floor of a 140-year-old traditional Machiya and led by certificated Tea Teacher who is born and based here in Kyoto. We can help you understand the correct manners for Tea and we offer with insights into the Way of Tea. After attending our class you will understand how to enjoy matcha tea,and you can enjoy at home. Please feel free to contact us for reservations, or with any questions you may have.We have organized our Tea space so it is accessible to anyone. You will sit on on tatami. A must see! Aya and her husband are wonderful hosts! Aya showed us a traditional tea ceremony in a beautiful setting. She was wonderful to talk to and even gave us suggestions for activities and shops in the area. I will definitely go again if I ever visit Kyoto again.

Highly recommend! They were very welcoming and explained the tea ceremony beautifully. The host is kind and a wealth of information on Japanese culture.

Definetely worth it. This is a great opportunity for leaving behind the buzz of a Kyoto city and get immersed in a solemn experience, authentic to the core. Aya sensei and Manabu sensei provide a sensible and meaningful insight of a traditional japanese tea ceremony. Both guide you throughout the entire experience, both in the serving and making, and are always happy to answer any questions you might have. I really enjoyed the session and learned a lot. Furthermore, Aya San and Manabu San are really great people! I feel very fortunate for having met them!

I went for a tea ceremony and I was just by myself (which was good!). Aya and her husband took the time to introduce me to this amazing experience: you get to wear a kimono that you choose and Aya made my hair. This is a must do if you stop by Kyoto! #tranquility #purity Love Japan.
