The structure was built in 1713 by British colonists to house guns and ammunition so that the fledgling colony could protect itself from the dangers around it. Its solid walls kept Charleston’s weapons safe for over one hundred years before being decommissioned. It’s safe to say this building has seen a lot of action from, Indian wars and Spanish threats to French invasion and colonist insurrection. If these walls could talk, the secrets we would learn . . . Well, it’s safe to say that these walls would be haunted.Duration: 15 minutesStop At: Joe Riley Waterfront Park, Concord Street, Charleston, SC 29401-2129This is the starting location of the tour. Traveler Reviews

Lance was spectacular! He was very informative and knew a lot about the history of Charleston. The adult tour is definitely for adults only, we loved his witty humor added to the tour.

Loved the tour! Lance did a wonderful job and was a great story teller. Will definitely recommend this to others!

Great tour. Lots of info and interesting haunted stories. Tour guide Michael was really great. Would recommend.

Michael and Cynthia (former history teacher) were a wonderfully engaging pair leading us through the historical streets of Charleston. They were both informative and funny! After a long weekend, my gal pals and I almost skipped this evening tour on 11/14/21. We were so happy we went! We’re still talking about the stories and sites we encountered. We highly recommend the Death and Depravity tour for a spooky good time!

This was a really good tour for people who love ghost stories and/or history. Our tour guide Laura was funny, knowledgeable, and a great storyteller. We really enjoyed it.
