Overview
ItineraryThis is a typical itinerary for this productPass By: U.S. Custom House, 200 E Bay St, Charleston, SC 29401-2611The U.S. Custom House or U.S. Customhouse is the custom house in Charleston, South Carolina. Construction began in 1852, but was interrupted in 1859 due to costs and the possibility of South Carolina's secession from the Union. After the Civil War, construction was restarted in 1870 and completed in 1879. The building was placed on the National Register of Historical Places on October 9, 1974. It is also a contributing property of the Charleston Historic District.Stop At: Mac's Place, 215 E Bay St, Charleston, SC 29401-2633Mac's Place Pub and Grub is located in the heart of the historic district. A "not so traditional" Irish Pub born from the love of food, great drinks, and better beer! Offering over 50 beers on tap, in a bottle, and in a can! Duration: 45 minutesPass By: Charleston City Market, 188 Meeting St, Charleston, SC 29401-3155The City Market is a historic market complex in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. Established in the 1790s, the market stretches for four city blocks from the architecturally-significant Market Hall, which faces Meeting Street, through a continuous series of one-story market sheds, the last of which terminates at East Bay Street. The Market Hall has been described as a building of the "highest architectural design quality." The entire complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Market Hall and Sheds and was further designated a National Historic Landmark.Stop At: St. Michael's Church, 71 Broad St, Charleston, SC 29401-2902Hear ghost stories, learn how to see a ghost, and along the way, you may even answer the questions, "Are we alone?," and "Why are we here?"Duration: 30 minutesStop At: Philadelphia Alley, Charleston, SCPhiladelphia Alley is not the shortest or narrowest thoroughfare in the city of Charleston, but it is sufficiently small to escape the attention of many residents and tourists. For those who have stumbled into its entrances on Queen and Cumberland Streets in the past, they have discovered a picturesque yet historically mute piece of Charleston. The facts behind the creation and early existence of Philadelphia Alley have been forgotten by the living, only to be replaced by rumors and fabrication.Duration: 30 minutesStop At: Tommy Condon's Irish Pub & Restaurant, 160 Church St, Charleston, SC 29401, USAWe finish the ghost stories over drinks, and if you're up for it, receive a complimentary Tarot reading!Duration: 1 hour

Traveler Reviews

What was a cold evening turned into an enjoyable evening of conversation and learning about the history of Charleston and their ghosts. Would recommend to anyone looking to have fun and some laughs.

This tour makes you feel like you got scammed. The tour operator was high on something, walked around with a pocketbook full of nips, made outrageous manic claims (he was a former VP of Bank of America, was followed by FBI agents, had inside knowledge about Kodak company coverups....) Very little history or ghost tour info. The listed inclusions (Museum entry fee for the Philip Simmons House at 30-1/2 Blake Street. Entry fee for the Halsey Gallery of Contemporary Art at 161 Calhoun Street....) did not happen. We looked at a graveyard from beyond the fence and went to an Irish bar. Pick one of the other tours.

This is not a ghost tour at all. Though the man was a character, he talked about some Japanese color theory and then took us to the first bar to read our tarot. Other than stopping by a single graveyard for one story, we did nothing related to a ghost tour. We didn’t go to a second bar or read auras like he had stated we would do. I am highly disappointed, this was for my friend’s bachelorette party and we felt extremely robbed of a ghost tour experience. In the future please don’t advertise this as a ghost tour because it is not one at all.

It was an amazing time with old friends while we met new friends! Our guide was a great storyteller. This was definitely one of our favorite memories in Charleston.

More bar than ghosts and more fiction than truth- Orator was timely and friendly, but experience was underwhelming. Not recommended.
