My husband and sons (ages 8 and 12) had the best time doing this! They said it was the favorite part of the trip. The master's English is very good and he created a welcoming atmosphere. My family was able to learn ninja moves, practice throwing actual ninja weapons, and use real ninja swords. I was allowed to watch and take pictures even though I wasn't participating. If your family is interested in ninjas, this is a must do!

Amazing experience! My husband and I visited with our 11 year old daughter and it was the highlight of her day. While traveling to Kyoto we decided to try an activity the children would enjoy more than walking and temple-visits. We were very happy to meet Sensei Ichikawa who welcomed us into his dojo and instructed us in the ways of the Ninja. This was an unforgettable experience for the kids and myself. We highly recommend the visit to anyone who ever wondered what it is like to be a Ninja and to learn a bit about the weapons and ways of the Ninja.
