My wife and I had a fantastic time with the sensei here. We had been to ninja houses in Shiga and other places, but they were kind of cheesy. Ninja Dojo and Store really delivered. History, weapons, training, symbolism, and real hands-on training. Loved it! We would recommend to anyone. English was not a problem. The teacher is so well-spoken even people not confident with their English or Japanese should be able to understand and have fun.

When we started searching for a ninja experience for our Kyoto trip, we were looking for more of a hands on ninja experience, and most of the ones we found around Kyoto seemed a little cheesy. Which is why we were excited to stumble upon Ninja Dojo & Store. My husband and oldest participated in the 2 hour Ninja School and it was non stop action from the moment they stepped in the dojo. They learned how to use so many ninja weapons including swords, daggers, chains, ropes, shooting stars, blow guns, and so much more. My 9 year old hasn’t stopped talking about the fun had and practicing everything she learned. I even enjoyed watching the class and learning all about ninja history and weaponry. The staff was so welcoming, knowledgeable and made this experience so much better than we ever imagined it could be. This was by far the highlight of our Kyoto trip. My husband and daughter are already making plans to go back for the intermediate class! Thank you!!

This was a tremendously fun activity for the whole family! The instructors were very kind and true experts in the art of ninjas. From introducing hand signals at the beginning to demonstrating stealth and combat techniques, this was a highly entertaining and also educational experience. The two hours simply flew by. There were so many different activities that every moment was an adventure of sorts, but my children particularly enjoyed the shuriken throwing and blow darts. From a parent's perspective, it was great being able to trust the teachers, who are really professionals, to create a challenging yet safe lesson. There is also a store that sells some great mementos for the kids, as well as genuine ninja artifacts for adults who want a piece of history. Lastly, the lessons are very reasonably priced and a very good value. I cannot recommend Ninja Dojo highly enough -- my kids are now ninjas for life and this is hands down the most memorable part of our Kyoto vacation!

We had an incredible time during our hour session. We are a family of 4 - 2 teenage boys and 2 parents in our 40s. The session moved quickly, covered a ton of material and included many fun, interactive activities throughout. They were wonderful with our family, offered to take pictures (which turned out great) and helped whenever we struggled with a concept. This is a must do activity while in Kyoto! The store is also very cool! Highly recommend (and thank you to our instructors who were both incredible - and spoke perfect English)!

We had a wonderful time with this lesson. The teacher is very nice, he speaks perfectly English and the lesson was very exciting. He loved what he does and you can feel it :) thanks again for this!
