A truly magical trip - two and a half hours, two caves, a boat ride, and the most amazing glowworm experience, with a passionate and knowledgeable guide (Norm). This outfit are the go-to for glowworm caves in Waitomo in our opinion. They limit the number of people on each tour to 12 (we had 6) which means a more personalised experience. We did the 2-hour tour which visits two caves - one with a boat ride through a magical cave full of glowworms (you’d swear you’re in a magical forest, not a limestone cave), and the other you walk through and see amazing limestone formations. They even include a welcome cuppa halfway through. Honestly a 5 star experience. You have to google Spellbound glowworm tours specifically though to make sure you get the right outfit.

We were a group of four adults and were joined by another couple on our tour. Our guide, Norm, was excellent - he was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour and made the tour both fun and informative. The boat trip portion of the tour was absolutely magical and the river gorge portion of the tour was fascinating. Highly recommend to anyone visiting this area and please note that the weather makes no difference to the enjoyment of your trip - just take a raincoat, good walking shoes and enjoy!
