Traveler Reviews

My Fiancé and I enjoyed our private daytime carriage tour of Historic Charleston. The weather was delightful, in the 70's, exceptional for mid December. Our Tour Guide was excellent and I was amazed by his knowledge of the history of Charleston plus his humorous anecdotes. I apologize for my poor memory as I can't recall his name, although he has been a tour guide for over 20 years. Our wonderful horse had a very long name but I believe the short name was Abi who was about 21 years of age but did an amazing job and knew the route by heart. The tour was 1 hour long and the route is chosen by a lotto drawing and we won the grand prize as the route we had included the fabulous Rainbow Row and the Battery area. This is my first private carriage ride and Palmetto did an amazing job. They also have Restrooms available and even include free bottled water for the ride. You can purchase a prepaid all day parking pass for $20.00 which is located behind the Red Barn, which is kind of nice as we a

The driver was very friendly and knowledgeable. would highly recommend this tour. Beautiful city and friendly people

We had a fantastic tour with palmetto carriage works. We booked a private carriage for ten of us and had plenty of room. Our tour guide Jenny was extremely knowledgeable, Interesting and funny and we loved every part of it!!! There were no questions she couldn’t answer and even the kids found it interesting.

We wanted to make a special Charleston visit for our 90+ mom and grandma. A private carriage tour was to be a highlight. Palmetto Works made it easy for her to board the carriage and they took good care of her. Our guide, Scott, was engaging, so knowledgeable, funny, and clearly loves his home town. He also told us about Dyno- our draft horse who has a cushy life. All the horses in the Big Red Barn are well treated. After the delightful hour long tour, mom was carefully brought down from the carriage and there was easy (ramp) access to the bathroom. Thanks to Scott and the team at Palmetto for a memorable trip around the beautiful and historic city of Charleston!

Had a great time. Me and my fiancé were down in Charleston for our anniversary and we had a whole romantic and fun trip planned. This carriage ride was so much fun and informative. Breona was awesome she did a great job and so did dynamite the horse!
