Ride was amazing when the cruise came to halt near the nærings fjord. It was breathtaking nature beauty.
Nice day out, very leisurely and laid back, great views. Food on board, and food and shopping at Flam if that interests instead of train trip. Lovely country, Norway.

You will be cruising on a fast and large catamaran from Bergen through the fjords and down the Sognefjord to Flam. Sognefjord is long so it takes a while to get there - 5 hours 20 mins approx. each way. There's a kiosk on board but take snacks with you. And a book if you have a short attention span. Bring multiple layers so you can get out onto the top deck and see everything up close - that was my favourite place but it does get chilly. There are 11 stops on the way there and on the way back, dropping off and picking up people - great photo opportunities. The toilets on board are good. Flam is tiny tiny and the 2 hour free time there is plenty. Lots of places to grab some food before you head back to Bergen, or if you're staying overnight there's a COOP store where you can get supplies. Cruising back towards Bergen is very pretty when you get close and the lights of the houses bounce around on the wake of the boat.
