After 3 buses, a garage forecourt where they just try and sell you other trips, and an hour and a half we still hadn't set off from Punta Cana, this set the tone for the day. This was booked through Viator but was completely not as advertised. Small group - don't know what the legal definition but nearly 30 people doesn't constitute small group in my book English speaking guide - on both the trip out and the return we only had a non-English speaking driver. If it hadn't been for a very nice young Argentinean girl who translated for us we would have been in real trouble. Guide joined the bus in Santo Domingo, pleasant chap but English was very much an afterthought (unless Spanish uses 20 words for every English word). Professional art historian guide - I don't think so, if he was he kept it well hidden. Yes, he gave us some information, some facts and figures but nothing that you would expect given the title. In the cathedral we were given an audio guide, it took longer to get this tha
