It was good to learn a little about the history of the island and the origins of rum but it was a but rushed between finishing there and getting to the caves. Although the guide at the rum tasting was good we did have to miss the last bit of the tasting to get to the caves on time. The caves were ok but overall we probably spent just as much time travelling as we did at the tourist attractions.

My husband and I went on this tour today and I was a bit disappointed. We got picked up promptly at our hotel and introduced to the driver. He was very pleasant and told us a bit of local information on the way to the port where we were going to pick up 9 more passengers from the cruise ships. We were told that we were going to do the Rum tasting first instead of the caves as the driver said that the caves were very busy. We arrived at Mount Gay and had to hang around for half an hour, we decided to go in the shop for a look around while we waited, but decided not to buy anything as we didn't know anything about the rum and which one we wanted to buy as we hadn't tasted it yet. We were taken around the tour by Rumal, wow, what a guy? Very knowledgeable and funny and after the tour finished I knew exactly which bottle I was going to buy and to get some gifts to take home for my friends who really love good quality Rum. Unfortunately, we were just about to purchase our rum cocktail at

We really enjoyed our visit to mt gay rum. The guide Rumal was just great! I took notes because he was so informative, and very entertaining as well. The tastings were very good. After that we visit Harrison’s Cave, which is a must see. I recommend this combined tour.

Excellent rum tour. Didn't get to see rum being made. Rum punch and four samples probably too much alcohol in the morning ! Caves were extraordinary, well worth a visit. Probably better to do tour other way round, but was informed that rum tour finishes early, so has to be done first
