Overview
First, you will enjoy watching Kamishibai (Japanese picture story show) which introducing Japanese fermented foods made from “Koji” micro-organism in Japan.You will learn how to cook rice without using a rice cooker, "Yaki Onigiri" grilled rice ball, "Karaage" fried chicken, "Ni tamago" simmered egg and seasonal vegetable dish.We will demonstrate how to cook three different flavors of "Karaage". All of these taste irresistibly delicious!Happy lunch time!*We pick you up at Shinjuku-gyoen-mae station (Tokyo Metro Marunouchi line) exit 2, outside after walking up the stairs. The cooking studio is at a 6-minute-walk from the cooking studio.*We suggest you to visit Shinjuku Gyoen Gardenstudio after the class, just a couple of minute walk from the cooking studio.It is one of the national garden with historical architectures.The seasonal full bloom flowers there make you feel peaceful.Sample Menu • Karaage, fried chicken - Three variations of fried chicken.Chicken seasoned with Koji in garlic & ginger soy sauce, Nori seaweed flavor and Crunchy rice cracker batter. • Yaki Onigiri - Grilled rice ball, you will enjoy the aroma of savory soy sauce. • Ni tamago - Simmered egg, it's a simple boiled egg but very Japanese style.Everybody loves it! • Seasonal vegetable marinated with Koji - Please enjoy the gentle taste of Koji marinated vegetables.You can arrange various combinations with leftover vegetables in the refrigerator.
