The tour should have included transportation. After getting there by taxi for $35, the taxi did not return to take us back to our hotel. We finally were able to get back for $90 by a different taxi.

What a great find! I have been acquainted with 3-star Ron del Barrellito rum for several years and it is a fabulous sipping rum. Now have been introduced to 4- and 5- star iterations. Both are fantastic! 4-star is described as similar to a bourbon, 5 is like a brandy. The tour is really cool, historic buildings, hand-hewn aging barrels, and the aromas of rum aging, some for as long as 60+ years. Fascinating to learn how they produce this fine product. A definite must-do in San Juan!

It was great to have a personalized tour from Romeo at Ron Del Barrito! He was so knowledgeable of the history and craft rum making process, we felt transported to his world. Everyone at the distillery was very friendly and accommodating, and the complimentary cocktail was fantastic!

I learned a lot about Rum and the people in PuertoRico! The tour was very educational and fun. It can a bit warm out there so come prepared.

[ Tour guide ] Mario was excellent! From the start he’s very inviting for any questions, even when the tour ends he’ll welcome any you might still have. Knowledgeable, presenting in an easy to understand manner with some occational appropiate jokes. He’s also prepared for any question you throw at him, but also humble enough to recognize when he doesn’t know the exact answer and will give you his best opinion on the rum-related topic. And he’ll gladly offer himself to take your picture. [ Facility ] Everything felt organized and appealing to the eyes. I was taking photos all-around and consider myself to have good attention for detail. [ Employees ] You get a feel of the human touch here when everyone is welcoming and acknowledges you in a courteous manner. From the person at the receiving counter directing you towards the termometer, to the bartender at the end (or start) of the tour which is approachable to passionately talk to you about mixology. Didn’t catch his name, but I wish
