Traveler Reviews

We just finished our second tour with Memo and Vallarta 101; we did a daytime taco walk earlier this week (Tacos 101) and a seafood taco walk today (Tacos 104), and each was delightful! Memo is knowledgeable and considerate and does all he can to make each tour perfect. As advertised, arrive hungry; you won’t be by the end! Be prepared to walk a lot, and you may have stand while you eat, because each vendor is excellent, therefore BUSY! We’ve already booked a chocolate walk through Vallerta 101, and hope there’s time for a couple of culture walks as well. We wholeheartedly recommend Vallerta 101’s tours.

Memo was a great guide, took us thru centro and the romantic zone, visited one restaurant and several taco stands, he knew the history of the stands and the people who own them, and the area, very knowledgeable. We ate so many kinds of tacos, burria, fish, marlin, carnitas. Carne asada, and more. Plus the hibiscus tea, the pineapple carrot drink were all delicious!! We were so full, we waddled back to our hotel for a nap. We took the 1230 tour, Had breakfast and lunch options. We were the only 2 for our tour, but still got an A+ experience, memo loves to share his knowledge and passion.

This taco tour was so great. We enjoyed every bite as Memo toured us around from los arcos to the zona romantica, stopping at amazing small local taco places along the way. He showed us some of the historical sites of PV and introduced us to members of well known families who have been serving tacos in PV for many decades. The food was amazing. I would have circled back around to each place for more if I wasn’t so full by the end. We finished our tour with some sweets at a local ice cream and popsicle shop as well as a candy store near the market. Memo was fantastic. I would recommend this tour to anyone who loves food and loves exploring the sites of this beautiful town.

This was the best taco ?? tour!!! Our guide, Memo (sp), was lovely! He took us to the most delicious places- everything was fabulous! We ate a variety of tacos and traditional drinks, while learning about Puerta Vallarta/Jalisco state. Worth every peso! Arrive hungry!

Memo is the taco guide GOAT! We booked this tour with him with young kids and teens and I thought for sure the kids would complain or something. But Memo knows how to engage all participants in an insightful, fun, and trusting way. We walked our way to little carts and restaurants trying different tacos each time. All the kids said their favorite tacos were birrea and that they loved the tour. They would not have tried so many varieties if it weren't for Memo. By the end of the tour you feel like friends and you're so thankful for the experience. It was definitely the highlight of our trip. Next time I go to PV I will do the nighttime tour!
