This was the ABSOLUTE BEST excursion we have ever taken on a cruise!!! Due to miscommunication, we arrived at the dock for the excursion late. We were rushed to the Marigalante (the name of the pirate ship) by staff. Immediately upon arrival, we were assigned our “personal pirate” who went by the name FLASH. Since we were late, we missed the main serving of breakfast but we did not expect special treatment since we were late and just thrilled to have made it onto the GORGEOUS ship. However, FLASH insisted that we eat breakfast as we would not have lunch until late afternoon upon our return trip from SKELETON ISLAND. FLASH set up a small table for us. As we had chose to sit near the rear of the on deck seating, we did not feel like we were being watched by all the other guests. FLASH took off a part of his costume to make a “tablecloth” and served us our delicious breakfast of eggs, refried beans and tortilla chips with a enchilada-type sauce and cheese. It was DELICIOUS. Great time, very polite and respectful. They made sure we had a good time. Entertaining, lots of music, a dance contest, gave away a few prizes.

Expect to only have open bar about 2 hours of the whole trip. They don’t serve drinks until you arrive to the beach, which is until 12pm. And then on the way back almost no time. On the boat and the beach you get drinks served by your pirate instead of you going up to a bar. Just an FYI. We did have fun riding the banana, pirate show is entertaining, beach is clean with clear water. If you decide to go snorkeling, you’ll have only about 1 hour of drinks haha. Food is ok. It would be better if they set real expectations for adults on their brochure and by the people selling you the tour.

En el mes de agosto de 2020, tomamos el tour del barco pirata, esta recomendado, la atención fue personal con con un pirata, en grupos pequeños de 6 personas y el barco con las medidas de seguridad e higiene por la contingencia, es seguro y confiable, porque sólo aceptan un número reducido de personas, pero con todo el elenco de personajes y el show es muy bueno, asi como la comida.

We booked this excursion. Paid for it got tickets. Called to confirm and get location both were given. They advertise ground transfers available...they are not! Must book other transportation. Took an Uber and showed up only to find no tour available as a private charter was booked. They had no booking for us. The company doing the tours IS NOT Grey line and they didn’t even confirm our booking with the company. Thankfully the actual company rebooked is for the next day. Trip advisor should remove this excursion from the site. We learned this happened just the week before with the same booking company and is a well known problem. Book Direct with the pirate ship company!
