The snorkeling was amazing and the horseback ride to the waterfall was a great experience that was a first for my fanily!!
From the start. Arrive at the terminal and pay the port fees, it's like $2 usd per person. Check in, it's a little unorganized. Wait in a area where you might get approach for a time share. Go through security screening. Boat ride to the snorkeling takes 1 hour. No alcohol is served until after snorkeling. You get half and hour to do three activities. Snorkeling, pattle boarding and kayak. So the rub...when it rains you can't see anything if you snorkel. They only have 2 boards and 3 kayaks fir 40 people...it's ridiculous!!! After you go to the beach, which takes 30 min. At the beach you can just hang out or pay to horseback ride to the falls or pay to ride on the back of a ATV. We did the horseback riding. Cost was $50 usd each and was fun but short, about 20 min. The falls are great but only get 15 min there. Lunch was included and was good...not amazing but ok. The all you can drink really starts on the ride back which takes an hour and a half. The alcohol is cheap but plentiful. Yo
Snorkeling was great but not long enough. The boat ride was very long. It was pouring rain and we decided not to see the waterfall. Others said it was worth it but for us it was good to be dry for a bit. The music on the boat was excessively load and there was not a place to be on the boat less noisy. I was surprised that no one wore masks once we were on the ocean including the staff. But we were outside so it worked out for the most part.
We boarded the boat and were greeted by the crew. They were all helpful and took care to attend to our needs. Breakfast: was a plate of scrambled eggs and “chilaquiles”, with a an orange drink. When the crew leader explained the activities ( snorkeling, waterfall, beach activities) , he emphasized that we would NOT be able to access the waterfall at Yelapa UNLESS we paid 400 pesos per person for an ATV or horse. Because we booked the trip specifically to see the waterfall, we paid to have the ATV take us. According to the crew, due to the recent rainfall it would be impossible to forge the vast river. As we rode the ATV up a very narrow WALKWAY we were livid to see other tour companies WALKING their guest up to the waterfall. The ATV ride up was 4-5 minutes. The ride down was even shorter. Please avoid this company- they were dishonest and managed to get 13 guest to book the ATV. We saw people of all shapes and sizes walking to the waterfall, please be advised that it is very doable! I
