It was a reservation for two in a one-bedroom suite with terrace and panoramic views, a spring stay in the Eternal City. She arrived alone, enjoyed a welcome prosecco, and requested that the Concierge arrange champagne to be served in the evening. Elegant flowers adorned the marble tables, the king-size bed was covered with rose petals during turndown service, bubbles rose from the Jacuzzi, and a delightful dinner was served on the terrace. The stars could not shine brighter; the air was mild and scented. He arrived shortly after and reached the suite, revealing a small Roman jewelry box and slowly opening it before her, his heart full of love. Rome: a timeless romance.
