Visit the beautiful Normandy country side and re-live one of the key sites of World War II where one of History s most decisive battles, led by General Eisenhower, began with the Allied invasion of German-held Normandy in June 1944 Travel through the Normandy region and visit the Landing beaches of Pointe du Hoc and Omaha Beach.
After a quick lunch (meal not included), stop at the American Cemetery (featured in the opening scenes of Saving Private Ryan) and the 3 villages of Saint-Laurent, Colleville-sur-Mer and Sainte-Honorine. In Port-en-Bessin, Allongues-sur-Mer and Arromanches, see the many remains of bunkers and artificial harbors that lay on the path. If time permits your driver will be delighted to suggest a visit of one of the typical Normandy towns where you can taste genuine Camembert cheese and local apple cider or Calvados brandy.
